About Durham Bat Group

Durham Bat Group is the umbrella body for the licensed bat workers in County Durham and exists to promote the conservation and study of bats in our area. We cover the area between the Tyne and the Tees plus those areas of North Yorkshire that are in the current administrative county of Durham.

Durham Bat Group organizes meetings, surveys and training activities to enable trainees to gain bat licenses.   Other meetings support the work of those who wish to be actively involved in the care, protection, study and conservation of bats. As time permits, members also lead guided walks, give talks and organize other activities to promote bat conservation.

There is no membership fee but members are expected to keep themselves informed and play an active part in group activities.
