Johann Simoncini was looking at different approaches to bat detection. A MAPLIN detector kit (now unfortunately discontinued) was used to detect ultrasound, and he then designed this simple simulator to produce ultrasounds similar to those made by a bat. The simulator generates bursts of ultrasound at 45kHz or 90 kHz.
